The New York Post shared that at the Pre-Emmy party that Katie attended that she had a chance to do some baking and seemed very comfortable doing so!
Katie Holmes channeled her inner Martha Stewart at CAA’s pre-Emmy party. The actress was first on line, spies said, when Per Se chef Thomas Keller offered celebs the chance to join him in the pastry kitchen at his Bouchon in Beverly Hills. Sans Tom Cruise, Holmes seemed to know her way around a pastry bag as she filled French macarons in assorted flavors. She also rolled and baked her own baguettes and took some home in a brown bag for Cruise and daughter Suri. Also digging the foodie scene were Brett Ratner, Ryan Seacrest, Les Moonves, Jamie Foxx, Jeremy Renner, Jerry Bruckheimer and Tom Colicchio.

‘The Kennedys” has given ReelzChannel a landslide victory.
The controversial $25 million miniseries starring Greg Kinnear as JFK and Katie Holmes as Jackie averaged 1.9 million viewers Sunday night on Reelz, according to Nielsen.
Those are huge numbers for Reelz, a regional cable network that screens movies 24/7 — and usually averages only around 3 million viewers a week.
“They actually accomplished their goal, which was to put them on the map and create appointment viewing,” says industry analyst Brad Adgate of Horizon Media.
The network, which is owned by Minnesota-based Hubbard Broadcasting, reportedly coughed up $7 million for “The Kennedys” after it was dropped by History — reportedly under pressure from members of the Kennedy family including Caroline Kennedy and JFK niece Maria Shriver.
Reelz spent another $10 million to advertise the eight-part miniseries, and even launched on Time Warner Cable (Ch. 131) just last month in a bid to lure New York viewers to “The Kennedys.”
“They needed to rise above the clutter and get people to watch — and they used a very sharp plan and strategy,” Adgate says.
New episodes of “The Kennedys” air tonight through Friday at 8 p.m. — with the two-hour finale airing Sunday night.

Katie Holmes spends most of her time on the road traveling – but she’s learned to navigate the nomadic lifestyle and maintain a homey feeling wherever she goes.
One of her tips for making daughter Suri Cruise, who’ll be 5 in April, feel at home no matter where they are? “Bring lots of crayons, glue good paper and you can turn any room into a very warm, familial place,” Holmes, 32, tells Women’s Wear Daily.
Holmes – who travels for her own career as an actress, to promote her fashion line, Holmes and Yang, and to be with husband Tom Cruise – says one of her favorite hobbies is doing arts and crafts projects with her little one.
“My husband got me a sewing machine for my birthday,” Holmes said, adding that she likes to get Suri involved. “My mom grew up making curtains and pillows and everything, and it made our home very warm, so I like to do things like that with my daughter.”

Katie Holmes’ rep has confirmed to EW that the actress has filed a libel lawsuit against American Media, Inc., in Los Angeles Tuesday. The suit claims Star Magazine — owned by American Media, Inc. — defamed Holmes by suggesting she is addicted to drugs in a recent cover story. (The headline: “Katie Drug Shocker“) Holmes filed the lawsuit after American Media, Inc., declined her request to retract the story. Says Holmes in a statement: Of all the fabricated stories that continue to be published about me, this instance is beyond the pale. The publisher knew this outrageous story was false and printed it anyway to sell magazines.”
American Media, Inc., has issued the following comment regarding the suit: “Star fully stands behind the editorial integrity of what we have published concerning Ms Holmes’ controversial use of the Scientology ‘e-meter.’ The physical effect of the e-meter on its users is a matter of significant public concern and we plan to vigorously defend the suit filed by Ms. Holmes. Many ex-scientologists have testified that the e-meter sessions have mood elevating effects. The cover and the inside article discuss these effects. Our attorneys look forward to deposing Ms. Holmes about her experiences with Scientology and the e-meter, and expect that the case will be promptly dismissed by the court.“
Katie Holmes has been chosen by Italian fashion label MaxMara for their ‘ “2011 Women In Film Max Mara “Face of the Future®”Award’ which is given to recognise style, talent and the recipient’s contribution to the community.
Katie Holmes has been honoured by MaxMara as their ‘ “2011 Women In Film Max Mara “Face of the Future®”Award’.
The annual award is given by the Italian fashion label to recognise style, talent and the recipient’s contribution to the community and Katie who travelled to Milan Fashion Week for the brand’s catwalk presentation said she was thrilled with the honour because she adores the label.
She explained: “Their clothes are so comfortable and beautifully made, I love wearing them. I’m so excited to be here at Milan Fashion Week, this is my first time. I haven’t been shopping yet but I will sneak in some time to shop.”
Ian Griffiths – Head of Design Style for the brand – revealed they had chosen Katie because she is the epitome of a MaxMara customer.
He told the Daily Telegraph: “Katie’s style is chic and modern, it equates with the Max Mara style because it gives you confidence so you look good in anything. No matter what you’re doing you don’t have to worry about how you look.
“With MaxMara you have to wear the clothes nonchalantly, you treat a camel coat like it’s nothing special and then mix it with something a bit more sexy like Katie does.”
The award will be presented to Katie – who attended the fashion show in Milan yesterday (24.02.11) with her mother Kathleen – at a gala in Beverly Hills in June where she will join the ranks of previous recipients Zoe Saldana, Emily Blunt and Elizabeth Banks.
Meanwhile Dolce and Gabbana presented an Eighties inspired collection in Milan yesterday and Karl Lagerfeld provided a modern take on Victorian inspired clothes for Fendi while today (25.02.11) Pucci will livestream its show from the Italian city.
Malin Akerman, Josh Duhamel and Katie Holmes gathered for a photo shoot in N.Y.C. yesterday to promote their new film The Romantics, a rom-com about a group of college friends who reunite for a wedding on Long Island. The cast, which also includes Anna Paquin and Adam Brody, modeled pieces from J. Crew’s upcoming Fall 2010 collection. Akerman looked quirky cool in a sequined skirt and sleeveless hoodie. Holmes, who plays the maid of honor (and executive produced the film), dazzled in a glittery dusty pink sheath paired with a classic brown belt, while Duhamel looked like he stepped right out of the catalog in a slim suit and preppy striped tie. We’ve confirmed that the cast wears a lot of the label throughout the film (out this summer), and judging by this photo shoot, we can’t wait to see the rest of the film’s fashion!
