Katie Holmes is due to star in a remake of the 1973 hit horror movie “Don’t be Afraid of the Dark” – out on 12th August 2011. Produced by Guillermo Del Toro and Mark Johnson, the film follows in the footsteps of a series of trapdoor thrillers which focus on differing versions of a scary hole which are invariably terrifying:
Sally (Bailee Madison), a young girl who moves to Rhode Island to live with her father (Guy Pearce) and his new girlfriend (Katie Holmes) in the 19th-century mansion they are restoring. Having stumbled upon the mansion’s hidden basement, Sally starts hearing voices calling out from the bolted ash pit, imploring her to open it. Sally obliges and unwittingly unleashes something so terrible, so unthinkable, that everyone’s life – hers most of all – is placed in immediate and grave danger.
The film is the latest release from Miramax Pictures. The premiere will take place at Comic-Con in San Diego.

Katie I have watched you over the years grow up on the Tv and in the news. I always thought you were sweeet. I want you to know that if you need someone to talk to as a silent ears and can keep his mouth shut give me a call. I know this must be out there as a request. But I want you to know you have true friends that care for you. Trust me when I say I can handle your daughter and be sweet and kind to her as well. And teach her about the things other have to offer. not just the fake stuff that happens there in Beverly Hills. The friends that you had as a kid.
